HOLIDAY HALF MARATHON & FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS FAMILY FUN WALK

Outloud! Productions, a Houston based multi-sport race production company, is excited to announce the Holiday Half Marathon at Moody Gardens®. The event will take place on Nov. 18 at 8a.m.
The inaugural half marathon course is primarily on beautiful Moody Gardens property and Scholes International Airport.
As a part of the weekend, Moody Gardens along with Outloud! will host a special Festival of Lights Family Fun Walk Nov. 17 at 5:30 p.m. For $15 per person (children under 3 are free), participants can enjoy the Festival of Lights experience, go ice skating, have their family photo taken with Santa and receive a t-shirt commemorating the event.
Outloud! has partnered with the Galveston YMCA to introduce the “Save Your Sneakers” program. Participants can donate gently used or new sneakers, which then will be distributed to folks in need both in Galveston and surrounding areas.
Also partnering with the event is Reason to Race, which encourages athletes to race for a charity of their choice. This program is designed for athletes to think past themselves and to focus on training for a cause greater than their own. It helps the participants to focus on a reason to train, a reason to get to the starting line and a reason to complete the race!.
Donations will be made to various local Galveston groups based on their volunteer efforts.
“We want to involve the community in this event in any way we can,” said race producer Greg Pennington. “We’ve had great success with helping organizations fundraise for their organizations by volunteering at any one of our other six local events.”
Race participants will receive a t-shirt, finisher’s medal, and a post race party with music, food and drinks. Age groups awards will be given as well.
