Tricks and Treats Wacky Scramble Golf Tournament
Galveston, Texas – Golfers can harness their inner ghosts, goblins or ghouls at Moody Madness VI on Saturday, Oct. 31. The Halloween-themed golf tournament will feature a unique “tricks and treats wacky scramble” format and a costume contest for both individual as well as team costumes.
“Each hole will be either a trick, meaning something silly or hard, or a treat, meaning normal or easier hole,” said Head Golf Professional Rick Christ. “This will be a fun tournament for both the players and those of us who are setting the tricks.”
Moody Madness VI falls on a weekend filled with activities and events around Galveston Island, including the Lone Star Motorcycle Rally and Pat Green and Lynyrd Skynyrd concerts at the Moody Gardens Amphitheater. The Moody Madness golf tournament series was first introduced early this year and has offered tournaments with a variety of unique formats for golfers’ enjoyment, team building and relaxation.
The Moody Gardens Golf Course first opened to the public in June 2008 after two years and more than $16 million in comprehensive renovations to the former Galveston Municipal Golf Course. As part of the renovations, Bermuda grass was replaced with salt-tolerant paspalum grass, which continually plays a critical role in keeping good conditions on the seaside greens. The Moody Gardens Golf Course is one of the few facilities in the Continental U.S. to use paspalum exclusively throughout the course.
The event check-in will start at 7:30 a.m., and the tournament will kick off at 8:30 a.m. The registration is due Oct. 23 and the fee is $65 and will include green and cart fees, the costume contest, prizes per flight and lunch.
