|Moody Gardens® is a 242 acre tourist attraction and family destination on Galveston Island. The entire property is designed in a way that accommodates people with disabilities, and features 74 accessible parking spaces and curb ramps. All buildings have ramps leading to their entrances, and all of the restroom facilities can accommodate handicap guests. Moody Gardens® has a number of vans with wheelchair lifts for on-property transportation.|
|There is no charge to use Moody Gardens® wheelchairs during your visit.They are available on a first-come, first-serve basis in the Aquarium Pyramid. Guest Services will ask that you leave your driver's license as a form of deposit. Your license will be returned to you when you return the wheelchair.|
The fun and educational attractions at Moody Gardens® include an Aquarium Pyramid®, Rainforest Pyramid®, Discovery Museum, MG 3D Theater, 4D Special FX Theater, Ridefilm Theater, Colonel Paddlewheel boat and seasonally operated Palm Beach, all of which are wheelchair accessible and welcome service animals. The Rainforest and Aquarium Pyramids offer unique visual and tactile experiences touching plants and animals. The theaters feature accessible seats with removable arms and areas for personal wheelchairs.
During the summer months, guests can enjoy the interactive Splashpad and zero grade man-made lagoons at Palm Beach with ramps leading into the water. For guests wishing to stay overnight or longer, the four-diamond Moody Gardens® Hotel is the place to be, with 17 handicap accessible rooms, six of which offer roll-in showers.
