 | | | | | | | | | Are you ready for a summer to remember? Then ask about our SAVY program! SAVY, which stands for the Society for the Advancement of Volunteer Youth, provides students 14 to 17 years of age with the opportunity to volunteer within their community while gaining experience in a variety of career fields.
Through the SAVY program, participants have an experience that only Moody Gardens® can offer. Our goals and objectives include: - To expose participants to a variety of career fields including business management, marketing, biology, and education.
- To help support Moody Gardens® mission statement: Moody Gardens® is a public, non-profit educational destination utilizing nature in the advancement of rehabilitation, conservation, recreation, and research.
- To be an enriching program that will challenge participants mentally, physically, and socially regardless of sex, color, or creed.
- To provide an edu-taining environment for our visitors and guests.
- To assist staff with various duties and responsibilities.
- To enhance the public’s image of Moody Gardens®.
- To help participants garner experience for future employment.
We are currently accepting applications for the 2008 SAVY Summer Session, which starts in June and lasts through August. There are only 60 positions available. | |

| How to Apply | |
| Our application process consists of three parts. First, applicants are required to submit a written Moody Gardens® SAVY Volunteer application and two (2) letters of recommendation from a non-relative. The application and letters must be received by Friday, March 30, 2008.

Galveston, Texas 77554 After we receive your application, you and your parent or guardian will be contacted via phone or email and asked to attend a personal interview with members from the Volunteer and Education departments. The interview is informal and gives you the opportunity to learn more about the program as well as giving us the chance to get to know you.
